End-of-life
Caregiving
End-of-life has unique needs. It deserves an unhurried, skilled, and compassionate presence.
As the body moves through its natural process of dying, having a skilled and caring presence in the home can make all the difference — for the person dying and for the family surrounding them.
What This Looks Like
In-home end-of-life caregiving with Lisa includes:
Practical physical care — comfort measures, positioning, hygiene, and attending to the body's changing needs with skill and gentleness.
Vigil sitting through the active dying process, ensuring a continuous, calm presence so that no one has to be alone — and no family member has to carry that vigil alone either.
Guidance for family members on what to expect as the process unfolds — so that what is happening feels less frightening and more familiar.
How It Works
This service is offered locally in Oaxaca City and surrounding areas. Each situation is unique, and care is tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual and family. End of life caregiving can be offered as a stand alone service or woven together with death doula support for a fully integrated experience - from early planning and preparation all the way through to the moment of death and beyond.
Caregiver Training
For families who already have a caregiver in place, Lisa offers caregiver training - equipping those already present with the awareness, tools, and sensitivity that end of life care specifically requires. Sometimes the most loving thing is making sure the people already there feel prepared and supported in what they are being asked to hold.
